You straighten the sleeve of your shirt and say, “Well, when you put me in front of other people to speak, I stumble, I sound stupid, I don’t get the words out fast enough or in the right order, I spend too much time looking at my notes.
I mean, I’d LOVE to do a TED Talk or start my own podcast someday, but I’m pretty sure I’d look like an idiot.”
“Ok, this is a little cheesy, but I have to share. My purpose in this life is to help people express themselves in a way that makes them feel good about themselves. I have devoted my life to helping women have stronger voices. I know that when women are able to express themselves and their voices are heard, the world will be improved. So when I tell you I’m confident you can become a better speaker and storyteller? I don’t make that statement lightly.
Do you want to learn how to do it?”
